Marcella Ellis received her education from Howard University and the University of Maryland where she studied Business Management and Marketing. She went on to pursue her desire to practice in the field of Cosmetology by enrolling in Robert's Institute of Hair Design where she graduated and passed the State board of MD
Furthering her education in Cosmetology she attended numerous advanced courses by top cosmetologists and companies such as Paul Mitchell, Kemi Products, Avlon and Dudley's to name a few. Her talent, knowledge, and skills allowed her to compete in various competitions winning numerous awards in hair styling and creativity. Her on going quests for advancement enabled her to return to the state board were she passed the exam and received her senior master's license. Bronner Bros Baltimore and Atlanta Hair Show frequently feature Dream Weaver, Marcella Ellis teaching her revolutionary weaving and extension techniques.
Formerly the Director of Education at Roberts Institute of Hair Design, located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Marcella promoted a curriculum and developed an instructional style that thoroughly engaged the student and fostered rapid learning and retention. Her teaching skills were further enhanced at the Hair Academy, also located in the Washington, D.C metropolitan area. In addition, Marcella has held positions at some of the most reputable and prestigious salons throughout the east coast.
Currently Marcella is the owner of Marcella Ellis Hair Studios a full service hair weaving and hair replacement center located in Lanham, Fairfax, VA, where she services along with her styling team an elite clientele of professionals, NFL wives, dignitaries, news reporters, actresses, models and the entertainment industry. In addition she is the owner of Marcella Ellis School of Cosmetic Arts and distributes the Marcella Signature Human Hair Collection and Signature Products from her distribution center located in Fairfax, VA. Marcella Ellis a Stylist Extraordinaire has been featured in numerous media publications such as, Black Enterprise, Rolling Out Magazine, Beauty Times Magazine, Black Hair Sophisticates just to name a few. Marcella Ellis also hosted her own television talk show at DCTV called the Marcella Ellis Glam Review.
August 2013 Marcella Ellis released a new innovative way to distribute human hair and have been featured in many media outlets like Jet magazine, Madame Noire Magazine, LA Daily News, the list goes on and on, referring to Ellis as the new Madame CJ Walker.
